OK, now that this blog is about a month old, it’s time for me to come clean and stop diddling around with it.
Here’s what I want to accomplish here: I want to learn how to make money–make lots of money–blogging. I want this to be my post-retirement business.
But this isn’t just about me. I want to build a business by teaching other people in my generation how to use blogs, either as a main source of income or to grow whatever other businesses you might already have going.
See, I worry about a lot of us baby boomers. Most of us haven’t saved enough to retire as our parents did. A lot of us don’t have pensions like our parents did. And while we haven’t lived through a major economic depression (knock on wood), we’ve seen more than our fair share of recessions.
But I also think we’re a resourceful bunch, by and large. We know a lot of valuable stuff. And the internet is just the vehicle we can use to turn that knowledge into income.
I also think we have an obligation to give something back to this world that has given us so much. And we won’t be in a position to do that if we’re constantly worried about money. Not to mention getting to do all we want to do and go to all the places we want to go.
So that’s my deal. I invite you to join me on this, my newest journey. What works. What doesn’t. And what I think and feel about both. ;-)
